It seems that the politics of not saying anything, or saying contradictory statements is in vogue. Look at these two videos, the first one essentially has Hillary saying contradictory statements which is most likely designed by an intelligent psychologist who essentially advocates sayings convoluted statements that allow the users to hear exactly what they want. These politicians seem to stand for absolutely nothing. The second video simply repeats a name like the damn head-on commercial in hopes that the zombies receiving the message will simply check off Hillary on the ballot. The only candidate who seems to actually be saying anything is Ron Paul, and hence he has developed a cult following from both the liberal/democratic side and the Republican side. I will vote any day for a principled Republican than a nihilistic democrat who stands for nothing and instead uses word soup to stand in place of any real principles.
Google presents really good lectures about map reduce and distributed computing.
Another reason to love where Canadian society is going vs. the rest of the world!
Michael Nagler at the UC Berkeley has two different courses with all video lectures on non-violent studies and how non-violence may be used for effective resistence. He also talks about an effective paradigm shift that must occur if we are to give peace as much a voice as violence for effective change. The first two that I watched seemed genuinely useful in daily life, so I think everyone should watch these just for being a better human!
In music they have a saying that you're only as good as your last hit. I think this is also the case for advertisement. I am a fan of VW, they make good cars and usually their advertisement kicks ass. However, they simply screwed this one up, royally. I really wouldn't even suggest you watch it, as it made me sick to my stomach!
Must see short film about what Naomi Klein terms the shock doctorine.
