Calgary 2007 Municipal Election Results/Winners

The results can be found here. Bronco won with 61%. Al-noor, the underdog who spent quite a bit on advertisement, was second with 17%, and a number of others were below 10%. It just goes to show that once the incumbent in is, it's not likely he's leaving any time soon. Below is a list of the winners, the actual results page isn't all that clean in showing the winners. These results are unofficial.

Al-noor uses Google Ad-words for Calgary municipal election

I was browsing YouTube and I noticed that one of the candidates, Al-Noor, is using Google ads and I thought that probably makes history as the first time a candidate used an online ad-platform in Calgary. I personally don't support or know Al-Noor but his platform seems more direct than Daves. I also like the fact that he posted a contract as a part of his platform. Now only if we could somehow make these damn things binding we would be in business. Election Results are here

Calgary is going into another municipal election

We're going in for another election on the 15th of October. I have been in Calgary for the past 7 years, all of which have been presided over by Mayor Bronconnerier. I have briefly met him and it seems to me that he does genuinely care about his constituency and this city. As an administrator, his policies have been on track and there isn't any significant amount of corruption in his government. So, I wouldn't mind if he were re-elected as the mayor of Calgary. More about the election on wikipedia.. D'Arcy, thoughts?
